RUNNERS are needed to help a Bristol hospice raise funds.
St Peter's Hospice is appealing for people to sign up the Bristol 10k and Half Marathon on the Sundays of May 20 and September 30 respectively.
The charity is not an official race partner this year but runners can still take part on its behalf.
Maria del Carmen Moon Park, St Peter's Hospice event fundraiser said: "As a charity we rely on donations from events like these to continue our work. Even though we are not one of the official charities, we want to let people know that they can still run for us.
"The Bristol Half Marathon is a fantastic local event which takes in all of Bristol's famous landmarks. The atmosphere on the day is electric as the crowd gets behind the runners, so I'd really encourage people to bite the bullet and sign up."
Services at St Peter's Hospice are provided free of charge but the NHS contributes just 23 per cent of the £6.5 million needed to run the hospice yearly, meaning events like the Bristol 10k and Bristol Half Marathon are essential to it.
