The Power of Perseverance
As I watched the lives of special Olympians, who by one tragedy or another have been rendered handicapped, yet with a determined spirit, they go out to compete for a price, I became challenged to forge ahead in my endeavors without excuse. If you've never given them attention, do so, you'll be challenged by their attitude not to seek for sympathy. The bible believing Christian attitude towards life's challenges should be that of perseverance rather than complains and discouragement. We are admonished in the scriptures, "Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: but rejoice inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that when his glory shall be revealed, ye many be glad also with exceeding joy (1 Peter 4:12-13).
